1. I would like to see the actual file name (whether it is part of another package or a standalone) somewhere of anything I load in SimPE. If its there, I apologize for being utterly blind, but its the one thing that drives me really batty is not knowing the file name upfront.

2. Being able to export houses just like you do Sims. I have a corrupt neighborhood that I would really like to get a few houses out of. Ok, so I am probably the only one that wants this for only one reason, because I crashed my neighborhood.

So because my #2 wish is lame I propose a smart utility that would help keep track of all the goodies I download, whether they are hacks, objects what have you...I have a very full dl folder and I would like to parse it up. However at this point I have no idea what half that stuff is with all the goofy file names. Of course I can load them one by one and figure it out, but you know how it is with a few hundred or so files.

And last but not least, some sort of help file to the current version. Or at least a list of new additions and what they are for in the current version. (without having to go online) I read a lot of tutorials that point to a different tutorial for an older version which point to other tutorials of even older versions and so on, which usually do not have the same interface as the current version etc so it all gets kind of confusing after a while. Because rarely is the "why" explained so you are kinda of working blind and rely on the visual cues in the tutorials. Maybe its just me. But yeah, a help file, in program tutorial (for the current version) or something. (and that does not require going online)

ok thats it for me. other than that I love this program and I cant imagine going back to the way it was before discovering SimPE. So thanks heaps and bounds for all the hard work you guys put into it!

I'm not sure if this is the file name you're talking about, but when you open any package file in SimPE, you should see the name of that file in the top bar of the SimPE window.

Have you checked out Sims2Pack Clean Installer?

It is quite useful.

And this is the main Reason, why there is no Help available yet. SimPE is changing too much, as it is still in Alpha Development.

IgnorantBliss-
I dont see a file name when I do a recolor/clone or something like that in one of the workshops. I know that when I load a file I know the name, but if I pick an object from a list in one of the workshops to work on or look at I dont see a name in the title bar. I am not sure if that made sense...maybe its just me?

Snowstorm-
I will have to check out clean installer, thanks for the tip, I thought that was just for finding hacks in new downloads or making sure your upload was clean! I admit I never bothered to look into it...my bad.

Quaxi
Yeah I understand about it changes too often, so how about just a "whats new" in this version summary then? :D

The Main SimPE Site allways list all Additions for each new Version. Plus there is a RSS Feed available (Link also on the main Page).

About the Filenames:
The Objects listed in the OW are not stored in one File, there are about 10 Files that hold one Part of each Object. So there is no way of showing a FileName.

I don't know if this is the same as the original request, but I would find it quite useful in OW to have the list show the name of the Objd file - either at the same time or as an alternative. I tend to think of objects by than name instead of by their catalog name :)

That would be useful as well.

I know that a lot of stuff is part of a larger package, but it sure would be nice to know which package and what the name of that larger package is. I always read tutorials that refer to object x package or something. It would be useful to me at least, if for nothing but learning, if that was listed somewhere when I open an object in OW or any other plugin.

yeah yeah I know, its not all about me...:D

@Inge:
i gotta check that.

@nectere:
Well, almost all objects are assembled by Resources from the Res/Object/objects.package plus all objectsx.package Files in Res/Sims3D.
