| Hi, I plan to localize the installer in french, but I don't really know where to start. Is the full source contains all the files needed or I need some extra files? I hope I'm not in wrong place. |

| Hopefully someone who knows the answer will be along soon... In the absence of Quaxi, Numenor might be able to help. |

| The SimPe installer is created by Inno Setup 5. If you look in <svn>\fullsimpe\ReleaseCreator .NET 2\bin\Debug\Data you'll find two files: I believe it's these that you need to edit to localise the install (based on the "[CustomMessages]" section). |

| DEEVO: In order to simplify your work, find attached to this post a RAR containing three TXT files that must be translated. In the "CutomMessages.txt" you have to modify ONLY the part to the right of the "equals" sign (read the English text and replace it with the French translation). Be careful, because sometimes you will vind variables (like %1 or %2) that you must leave untouched: these are placeholders that will be automatically replaced by the program name and version. Also, don't modify the code %n when you find it: it's another placeholder that means "new line". The other two files are the Licence Agreement and the Info text: translate them as well (they don't contain any special placeholder). When done, post the modified text files here and I will integrate them in the installer code. PETER: As soon as I get the translated TXT files from Deevo, I'll download the latest version of the .iss file and will create the updated version (without modifying anything but the language settings and the custom messages). Reminder: the updated .iss files has to be upladed to: <svn>\fullsimpe\ReleaseCreator .NET 2\bin\Debug\Data while the License and Info files go to: <svn>\fullsimpe\__Installer\embedded Attachments: |

| Thanks guys, Yes, it will simplify a lot! It will also help others to translate the installer in their own language, I was not thinking it could be so easy! Translation done! Thanks Numenor you save me a lot of work... deeVo (Edit by Numenor: removed attachment) |

| Thank you DeeVo for your contribution! (And sorry to anyone for the delay I'm replying to this thread...) PETER: Find attached the rar containing: - the script "setup.iss", that should be uploaded to: <svn>\fullsimpe\ReleaseCreator .NET 2\bin\Debug\Data
- the files "frInfoBefore.txt" and "frLicense.txt" to be uploaded to: <svn>\fullsimpe\__Installer\embedded
INGE (and Peter): Regarding "SimPE-light" and the script "setup-light.iss", I believe that they are no longer supported (and they would be pointless, now that one installer is capable to install the "light" version, too). I suggest to remove the SimPE-light from the download page. Attachments: |

| The setup.iss has changes other than the addition of the French translation. Many of the international characters have changed (e.g. u-umlaut to "u?"). I can revert those individual changes but I just wanted to check it wasn't intentional. Was it? ------ later ------ I'm too impatient :) I've committed a version without the unexpected changes. It's in SVN now. |

| Sorry, Peter, I always read important posts too late :P I didn't change (not intentionally anyway) the international characters... But I've made a silly mistake: instead of downloading the .iss file (right-click -> Save as), I've left-clicked on the link, and displayed the code in the browser, and then saved it: this must have been broken the international characters (I promise it'll never happen again!!! :P ) |
