Why not develop a Java version or .NET for Mono ?

Mono use Gtk# as GUI so maybe the SimPE GUI code should be rewritten !

Java: you're welcome to translate it yourself.

Mono: some of the controls are proprietry, unfortunately; there are also one or two platform-specific calls.  Left to my own devices, in a few years, these will probably have gone (although, without platform-specific support, installation will become more difficult: I've no idea what the Mac equivalent to the Windows registry and this is used to find out where The Sims2 is installed and which EPs etc are present).  Maybe if they obstruct moving to a 64bit platform they'll go, too (but I'm not expecting to go 64bit for a while yet).
