Is there somethign about awnings that makes them too difficult to implement in SimPE? I would love to add some new textures to awnings, as well as borrow from some of the textures to make matching roof patterns. Is it possible to have support for awnings?

I've never tried an awning. It is possible that you need to be in "Advanced Mode" to find them. It is also possible that the CEP hasn't got them in it. You can only recolor a Maxis object if it is one of the things tht the CEP makes available.

They don't show up in Advanced Mode. I've checked in advanced mode and looked in every folder and subfolder for them. I did a search for awnings on this forum and there was a post saying that awnings were not supported. If I could find the awnings I would clone them, but as it is, they aren't even listed in SimPE.

They're probably spline objects like walls. You can't edit those via OW either AFAIK

Drats. Is there any way to find out for sure if they are spline objects? Also, has anyone else been having an issue with starting SimPE and then having the screen flicker and the desktop showing behind parts of the simpe window? Maybe I need to reboot my computer...
