Hi :) I've been working on modifying hair meshes. But everytime I open an am hair mesh I'm to modify in SimPE, its GMDC name always turns out 'amhairrocker_grey'. Even two different meshes have the same name. I tried other meshes, and they turned out 'amhairSixty' or 'amhairWill'. And their previews didn't look like the meshes I put in SimPE originally. What is the problem? Thanks in advance.

I doubt this is a SimPE bug or people would have been complaining about it for months or years. You'd best get advice at ModTheSims, as the most likely explanation is there is something about the process you have not understood fully.

Thanks for your advice :) I solved the problem with that, anyway I exported the hair I wanted to work on and imported it back, and started SimPE and open that mesh...... And I found the hair mesh I was to modify, in Downloads, and put it into SimPE and extracted GMDC, SHPE, etc. I think I followed whole steps to make a new mesh pretty well..., but I don't know. Can I just extract resource node something from the original hair mesh? I modified it in MilkShape and replace the GMDC. And as clicking Priview, an error popped up: The parent CRES was not found. I searched it on google, mts2, and here..., I put my mesh file and cres/shpe/gmdc/gmnd files in savedsims and downloads. But it still doesn't work, driving me crazy. What happen if I just replace it and save? Anyway there has to be no error while working with SimPE?

Do you get the same trouble with every hair you try? This sounds familiar. There were some CRESs actually broken in one of the EPs that got fixed with the M&G stuff pack. Try another hair, from the basegame or something, and see if you get the same problem with that.

Oh yes. Extract gmdc - Add as a new resource - Preview - Error. Almost routine to me. Even the base game stuff has the same problem. But I don't have M&G. Everytime I extract gmdc/gmnd/cres/shpe and rename it a new mesh and try to see its preview, SimPE gives me error messages. But when I just opened the original mesh which's made by Peggy and replaced its gmdc modified by me, there's no error. It looked fine and actually I saw it modified in Body Shop. Well I think it worked normally, though it was technically not a new mesh. I may have problems only with making new meshes. Added. I'm now curious... Is it possible that a good mesh works or looks oddly in game because of that error in SimPE?

Well as I said near the beginning, if everyone was getting your problem, the forums would be stacked with complaints and there would be no good hairs to download. It must be a combination of something unusual you are doing, along with something SimPE isn't making easy. But if you speak to the right people, people who have some experience of hair modding, they will be able to help you work around it. I just don't think you will find those people on this site.
