I hope this is the right place to post this. Well, everything worked fine until yesterday. Now I'm not able to save .dds files with transparent area. It shows as transparent in SimPe, but transparent areas are all white and edges are blocky in game. I use Nvidia Photoshop plugin and DDS Utilities for SimPe, but results are the same no matter if I directly import .dds file or use build DTX function. I tried to reinstall DDS utilities and plugin (few times), but no help from that. Tried System Restore, but that created bigger problem, so I went back. I think DDS tools have some file or path where settings are saved, but I cannot find it. And I searched Nvidia's forum but didn't find anything that would help. Somebody had similar problems? Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Did it ever work properly for you? If so, what changed? If not, are you using the legacy DDS tools, and not the new ones? SimPe was built to use the legacy tools. (This is the right forum to post here, but you might have more people seeing your question if you post somewhere like MTS, where there is a lot more traffic.)

Thanks for replying. Yes, it worked perfect since I first installed DDS Utilities. I was using the new version (8.23.1101.1715), and after this happened I tried legacy tools, version 7.83.0629.1500, but nothing changed. Now, when I build dds without transparency, it still works normal. The problem is when I build in DTX3 or DTX5, the transparent areas are white. When I export such image (transparency is viewable in SimPe, but not in game), png file still has its transparency. This puzzles me. I thought about posting on MTS, but was afraid they'd just redirect me here. I found one solution for now. To add Photoshop plugin to my brother's computer and save my dds files there until I work this out. And one more question. Would reinstalling Windows (I don't know what else to try) change anything?

I have no idea, but whatever changed between the time it was working and the time it stopped would seem to be the clue. I don't think they would redirect you back to this site from MTS. They are pretty good at offering support over there, and it has been mentioned that this site has gotten very quiet since Sims 3 came out. It might be a good idea to try posting over there since we are starting to get in a bit over my head here.

OK, I'll post this on MTS too. You're right, it's greater possibility for people to see my post there. I completely forgot about Sims 3. XD Thank you for advice and help. _____________________ EDIT: God, I'm so stupid! It was nothing to do with DDS Utilities or SimPe. I simply forgot to check if stdMatAlphaBlendMode was set to "blend". It wasn't. You can lock the thread now and point and laugh at me if you want. I deserved it. Sorry for bothering you.
