All of a sudden I am having a problem with SimPE whenever I try to edit anything in my neighborhood. When I click save I always get a System.OutOfMemoryException error message. I get 100s of them in a row and all I can do is quit SimPE because it freezes. I have tried everything and nothing is working. I followed the tutorial about setting SimPE to handle more than 2 gigs of RAM, but it never works because CFF Explorer will not let me save the changes. I also restored my neighborhood backup files and still am getting the same problem. I don't know what else to try but I really need to get this sorted out, as I cannot play my game without SimPe. I use it for everything and have never had a problem like this before. Please, if anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears.
Here's one of the many error messages that pop up when I click save:
Message:
It says windows vista but I'm actually running Windows 7. Also, where it says "File: Sim Relations...", I get messages that say "File: Sim Description.." and "File: Binary Index..." and lots of other things. If anybody knows anything at all, please help and I am willing to try whatever you can suggest.
Also, if my neighborhood is corrupted, that would be strange because the game plays just fine and I have no problems with it at all. SimPe just won't let me make any changes. Everything else is fine. Thanks for reading

SimPE modifies files that are not associated with it, so Vista wouldn't run it unless it was granted Administrator privileges and run under an Administrator account. It would not surprise me if you have to jump through a few hoops to get it working properly under Windows 7 as well. Unfortunately I don't have Windows 7, so I can't tell you what those hoops would be. I would suggest looking for some way to grant SimPE permission to modify external files, though.

Member since: 2009-12-25 Posts: 2 | Thank you very much for replying, I will see what I can do. It's strange because SimPE was working just fine on Windows 7 for a few weeks. This problem suddenly appeared. But I will definitely try what you suggested. Thank you!

EDIT: Thank you for your suggestion. I had to play around with it a little and things seem to be working for now. I appreciate your reading this.
