I cannot for the life of me figure out which sims do and don't have character data.I know there is supposed to be some way to tell by the colors of the backgrounds of the thumbnails in plug-in view, but I don't know what color means what. In plug-in view in the Sim Description area I see grey and blue backgrounds. Sometimes in Memories view I see sims with red backgrounds. I had assumed red were the ones that couldn't be ressurected until I realized that the red ones were ones that were already active within the game, and red only showed up when I was looking at people's memories.

 

I'd like to have as many pre-made sims active as I can and want to ressurect the ancestors that can be ressurected, but I don't know which to relink and which I ought to leave alone.

I believe it's grey for intact, blue for unlinked, and red for gone. An easy way to double-check would be to look at Pleasantview's Bella Goth. She has no character data.

 

(I thought there was an explanation at the top of the sim browser, but I guess I'm mistaken.)

 

And the red in the memories has nothing to do with it. You need to be looking at the thumbnails in the SimBrowser.

 

Also, I would be sure to have a backup before you try bringing back any of the unlinked ones. This can be a problem.

I did back up, thank you. And thank you for the information. It probably is in the Sim Browser, but I usually go through the neighboorhood browser first, then to the Sim Description.
