| I changed a lifetime want for a YA who had been a Teen Criminal and for some inexplicable reason wanted to be a Hall of Famer, so her lifetime want became Master Criminal. The correct icon shows and also the description says she wants to reach the top of the criminal career track, but the actual title still says "Hall of Famer".
I presume it is set for Criminal, but is there a way to change the title so it reads Master Criminal? It looks sort of odd the way it is. I think maybe it's coding of some sort, but I can't work out how to do it.
Also, when I choose things with numbers in (such as "have so many grandchildren") the number doesn't show-up, just the $ sign that is there in SimPE itself. How do I get the number to appear? |

| I as well. I am trying to figure out how to change to get the Military become a General liftime changed from Cheif of Staff and the other from Mad Scientist. |

| Maybe the additional Career Wants are hidden in another category? Or you have to use an arbitary Carrer Lifetime want and place the GUID of the Carrer you want in the Property File.
Have you ever had a Sim with that Want in the Game? Maybe it isn't available at all? |

| Yes, it's definitely available, it's one of the original TS2 careers. It's the new ones that don't seem to be available as lifetime wants (well, apparently they are, but I've never seen them and they don't show in SimPE).
Anyway, I managed to change it with another hack so it's OK now, it's showing everything as it should be. |

| As someone who spends a certain portion of nearly every waking day answering questions instead of just asking them, I'm always disappoined when anyone says "I've fixed something but I'm not going to say how" because for every question someone asks, perhaps 50 more wondered the same thing.
So I'd appreciate knowing what hack or what method you used to fix this, giving a little back to the community by providing an answer is always a very nice thing to do, so I hope you come back and do that soon as I would like to know the solution.
Not attacking you, just saying something out loud here so at least 50 people realize it too.

| The Lifetime Want to become a Criminal Mastermind is definitely available, because I have a couple of sims with that Want. However, the four new careers from University are also supposed to be available as Lifetime Wants, but I haven't had them show up with any sims yet, and they are not listed in SimPE, either. I wonder if they actually are available in the game? |

| I am going to run my game and see if the want is fullfilled with the altered career. If it woks, bonus. If not, I am also intrested on what other program Ancient Sim used.
(update) No, it did not work. They did not get the lifeftime platinum. So I changed the want back to one I know works. |

| To properly change a career-related lifetime want in SimPE, you have to select the want from the tree and change the Value field in the right-hand column. The different possible values are as follows:
Athletic: 0x2C89E95F
Business: 0x45196555
Criminal: 0x6C9EBD0E
Culinary: 0xEC9EBD5F
Law Enforcement: 0xAC9EBCE3
Medical: 0x0C7761FD
Military: 0x6C9EBD32
Politics: 0x2C945B14
Science: 0x0C9EBD47
Slacker: 0xEC77620B
I left out the new University careers. If I understand Sithaiixyl correctly, changing the value to correspond to one of those doesn't actually work. There are no lifetime wants corresponding to them; I heard somewhere that Maxis left them out because pre-EP sims that never went to college would never be able to fulfill them. Of course by that rationale, they shouldn't have included such absurdities as "Marry Off 10 Children". I'm like China over here with a one-child policy. Ok, sometimes two. But nowhere near ten! As cute as toddlers are, I just can't deal with all that madness.
Ancient Sim is probably referring to University Final Clock by J.M. Pescado. The latest version features a lifetime want reroll feature. Note that it will only bring up lifetime wants relevant to the selected sim's lifetime aspiration. For example, a family sim can get the aforementioned "Marry Off 10 Children", but never "WooHoo with 20 Different Sims". If you're deliberately trying to get a lifetime want that doesn't correspond to the sim's aspiration, change the sim's lifetime aspiration first (using "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" or whatever other method you'd like), then reroll.

| Has it been confirmed yet that the expansion careers were not programmed with wants, or are they simply out of reach? Maxis has been silent, and all I've seen so far is speculation. |

| The only thing I can confirm so far, is that the Wants for the EP Careers are not stored in the default Location. So it is likley that Maxis forgot about them.
But I can't tell 100%, it is just my Observaition of the Files! |
