Not a true bug per se, but the Milkshape ascii export is not exporting as a true MilkShape file. I think I may have found a temporary solution to exporting bones to other formats! I found a converter tool that will import MilkShape ASCII files, but it doesn't recognize the file exported by SimPE. When I added // MilkShape 3D ASCII to the beginning of the txt file, the program recognized it. However, I don't think the joints/bones section is in the proper format either. The converter only found the first joint. Does anyone have a "boned ascii" file exported from MilkShape that they could look at and see if the format is different?

Edit:
OK, I found a file on the 'net and here's the difference I see in the joints section:

Those are just pieces of the files, but you can see there's a major difference there. When I loaded this second file into the converter program, I was able to get all the bones info. Exported to 3dsMax .ase format and all the bones were there.

I can assure you that it is the correct MilkShape Format, since I used them with Milkshape during Testing.

You do not need a converter. Milkshape ships with an importer/exporter for it's own ASCII Format.

Ah, I guess whoever wrote the converter was looking at a specific (probably old) MilkShape format. But yes, I do need a converter, since I don't own MilkShape and use 3dsMax. :)

Targa there does appear to be a problem with the newer versions of the importer/exporter .Try version .44 and see if that works for you. That is the version I have been useing for the import and export. It seems that the newer versions are putting a few joints in the wrong place.
