I think I may have found a temporary solution to exporting bones to other formats! I found a converter tool that will import MilkShape ASCII files, but it doesn't recognize the file exported by SimPE. When I added // MilkShape 3D ASCII to the beginning of the txt file, the program recognized it. However, I don't think the joints/bones section is in the proper format either. The converter only found the first joint. Does anyone have a "boned ascii" file exported from MilkShape that they could look at and see if the format is different? Edit: OK, I found a file on the 'net and here's the difference I see in the joints section: SimPE export: ---------------- "r_bicep" 8 -0.000367754023 -0.000120692421 0.132899627090 -0.133344256030 0.000000000000 0.000000000000 0 0 "r_longsleeve" "r_forearm" 8 0.000000000000 0.000000000000 0.000000000000 0.000000000000 0.000000000000 0.000000000000 0 0 "r_wrist --------------------- MilkShape ASCII: --------------------- "joint1" "" 16 41.500000 30.500000 0.000000 -3.134971 1.570796 0.000000 4 1.000000 0.000000 0.000001 0.000001 29.000000 0.000000 0.000001 0.000001 34.000000 0.000000 0.000000 -0.000001 40.000000 0.000000 0.000000 -0.000001 4 1.000000 -0.000000 0.000000 -0.000000 29.000000 -0.575958 -0.000000 -0.000000 34.000000 -0.000000 0.000000 -0.000000 40.000000 -0.000000 0.000000 -0.000000 "joint2" "joint1" 16 0.000000 0.000000 37.750828 0.096037 0.000060 -3.141593 5 1.000000 -0.000000 0.000002 0.000000 16.000000 -0.000000 0.000001 0.000001 29.000000 -0.000000 0.000000 0.000001 34.000000 -0.000000 0.000002 0.000001 40.000000 -0.000000 0.000002 0.000001 5 1.000000 0.034906 0.000000 0.000002 16.000000 0.750491 -0.000012 0.000042 29.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 34.000000 0.034906 0.000000 0.000002 40.000000 0.034906 0.000000 0.000002 "joint3" ----------------------------------- Those are just pieces of the files, but you can see there's a major difference there. When I loaded this second file into the converter program, I was able to get all the bones info. Exported to 3dsMax .ase format and all the bones were there. | |
