So, I have the EPS up until seasons. I've never played the university premades, but today I wanted to fool around with them. I load up some frat house, and I look at Kevin Beare's wants. He only has one and the other three boxes are "grayed out".

I loaded up Simpe to see if I could edit this, but when I loaded up his wants panel, I noticed that he has no wants and everything is grayed out and I can't add anything. I load up his roomate Ashely Pitts, and he has all four wants.

I'm confused. What happened to his wants? It also infects another two or three random premade college students.

Grayed out simpe

I'm not sure what happened, but you would be better off trying to refresh his wants in game than trying to add them with SimPE. There are numerous hacks that will do that if the one want that he had was something that was not very easy to fill.  I know you can use the Blender, and I believe the Batbox has a similar function. InSim could do that too, but it's not supported so it is no longer recommended.

I tried refreshing his wants with the insim, but only the one want that he has in his panel actually appears....

And what isn't supported anymore? Those hacks you have listed, or simPE?

InSim isn't supported anymore. It stopped being supported when the developers sold the site to someone who had no clue about the game (or the storm he was going to cause by trying to make it a paysite) and Pescado downloaded the contents of the site and re-hosted it elsewhere. You can get the hack, but there is nobody who will try to help you if it breaks your game.

SimPE is supported, but just barely. The actual developers are working on tools for Sims 3, so there is no further development on it, but the site still gets checked regularly.  Inge may not like Sims 2, but I still do.  There is more support for SimPE at MTS than here, though, since there is more traffic there.

I wonder if his want tree got corrupted somehow....

Back up your game, just in case something else goes wrong.

Follow that link and find your most recent EP. Look for something called ffsdebugger. It will look like a black box with a batman logo on it when you find it in your game. (which is why it gets referred to as the Batbox.) I believe the batbox can fix a corrupted want tree, if that is the problem.

Before I install it in my game, I downloaded the hack, and read the README file, and didn't find anything that has to do with "want trees"....

Here is what the hack comes with incase you forgot. :P

"FEATURES:
I. FIX AWOL HEADMASTER
Detonates the Headmaster Controller, which can become corrupted and
prevent the headmaster from appearing correctly on your lots.

II. UPGRADE PRE-UNI SIM
Upgrades an Adult or Elder sim to 6 want slots/2 locks + Uni graduation
with no major. Most useful for pre-Uni sims so that they aren't
permanently confined to second-class citizen status.

III. CLEAR STUCK PARTY
Destroys the party controller, which can become corrupted and result
in the inability to hold parties, neverending parties, or corrupted
party scoring. Any currently in progress party is immediately terminated.

IV. RERANDOMIZE SIM GENERATOR
Scrambles the sim generator by advancing the sequence a random number of
places to avoid the identical-child-personality "firstborn" effect. Will
exit the lot without saving as a side effect. Save before use.

V. SET/REMOVE LIFETIME WANT BIT (non-Original)
Grants or revokes permanent platinum LTW status in a sim. Use for bugged
LTW satisfactions where status is not granted, to remove if you simply
don't like it, or because you're a cheating lamer.

VI. UNFREEZE VISITOR MOTIVES
Removes "static motives" flag from all visiting sims and dormies.

VII. KILL STUCK BILLS
Deletes all potentially stuck bills hiding on and off the lot.

VIII. CLEAR OFFWORLD LOITERERS
Indiscriminately removes all sims loitering invisibly off-lot. May cause
undesired side effects if used at the wrong time.

IX. REENABLE CONTROLS
     Attempts to reenable build/buy/save/exit.

X. KILL GHOST EMITTER
Deletes the "haunted" emitters which cause sims to freak out at random
objects, even if ghosts are not present on the lot.

XI. FIX BROKEN MOOD BOOSTS
Fixes the platinum-asp mood boosts for all sims on the lot.

XII. UNSTICK ME (debug mode only) (experimental)
Attempts to unstick a sim that has lost the ability to move for some
     unknown reason. Experimental.

XIII. NUKE STUCK MOVE OUT
Nukes the college move-out controller, which can become corrupted and
prevent sims from moving out of college.

XIV. RETRIEVE MISSING SIM
Attempts to retrieve a missing sim which is stuck off-world by teleporting
it to the mailbox and forcing an error.

XV. UNBLOCK FRIDGE TILES
Attempts to remove stuck invisible tiles potentially blocking fridges.

XVI. FIX FUNKY MOVEMENT (debug mode only) (experimental)
Attempts to force a sim back to walking normally and stop the "iceskater"
effect. Experimental - intended for testing only.

XVII. RE-GIVE DIPLOMA (debug mode only) (Uni)
Re-issues a sim's diploma in the event that it is lost/stolen/eaten.

XVIII. MAKE ME SMART/STUPID (debug mode only)
Applies or removes "stuck smart milk" effect to sims.

XIX. FORCE ERRORS (experimental)
Forces all objects of specified locality (all/in-world/off-world) to
error. Do not run while debug mode is ineffect or thousands of error
dialogs may appear! May crash, freeze or spam your game. Consult your
     doctor before use.

XX. TEST IQ
Returns percent-learning rate (100 is normal) for current sim.

XXI. RESPAWN TOMBSTONE (debug mode only) (experimental) (NL)
Regenerates a tombstone for a dead sim. Note that the dead sim must be
the selected sim, which means you must spawn him somehow, then make
him selectable and choose this command.

XXII. Nuke Stuck Poobags (NL)
Removes stuck invisible flaming bags of poo from horrible dates.

XXIII. Nuke Stuck Airplanes
Removes invisibly stuck paper airplane reserve tiles.

XXIV. Fix Broken Selectableness
Fixes broken selectable bits occasionally found on newly moved-in sims.

XXV. Fudge Astrology (debug only)
Forces a sim's astrological sign to the one corresponding to the number
chosen. Useful for creating sims based on real people with personalities
that may not match Maxian archetype.

XXVI. Wipe Mystery Sim Memories
Removes all irrelevant "Mystery Sim" memories on freshly created so your
sims can experience the relevant moments with some real sim instead of
blabbing about this mystery sim thing. Option not available on sims with
chronologies that removing these would invalidate.

XXVII. Remove CLP (debug only)
Removes the community lot populator object if debugger is on community
lot. If you don't know why you want to do this, don't touch this.

XXVIII. Decimate Neighborhood (debug only) (do not use!)
10% of your neighborhood is randomly given the death token, causing
immediate death on lot load. DO NOT USE THIS OPTION. Will give warning
box if you attempt to touch it.

XXXIV. FIX WEREWOLF HAIRINESS
If your werewolf is stuck in perma-hairy mode, try this button to perhaps
cause him to become normal (during the day anyway). Not available at night
when you're supposed to be hairy.

Not all options are displayed unless applicable to current sim and situation.
Not all options displayed are applicable."

I just might of read something wrong. That happens sometimes.

Actually I may have remembered wrong.  You're right, nothing on that list looks terribly helpful in this case.

At this point I would either ask for help at MTS where there are more people who will see your post, or (after making sure your game is safely backed up) try using move objects to delete the problem sim and then go back into the lot to see if resetting him fixed him.

You say "resetting' would "testingcheats" work? Forcing an error and resetting him?

Yes! That was what I was remembering!

Sim Blender
Requires: Pets or Higher

Originally conceived as a sim randomizer; and I still may get around to finishing that part at some point. There are several randomization options that do exist and are functional.

This is still a work in progress. I'll be adding more features to this object. If you have an idea or request for it, post it in the I Want This forum.

Current Options:

Cheaty Type Stuffeths:

  • Max Aspiration (Platinumize) (by sim, all residents, all sims)
  • Max All Motives (by sim, all residents, all sims. By sim option available to pets)
  • Adjust a Single Motive (by sim or everyone, can set almost empty/half/full)

Relationship Type Stuffeths:

  • Set Short-term relationship level (set to -20, 0, 20, 50, 70, or 100. Available to pets)
  • Set Short & Long-term relationship level (sets both, same options as above. Available to pets)
  • Set/Clear Relationship Flags (Set or remove crush, love, friends, bff, etc. affects both sims) Note that there are no checks to make sure you aren’t doing something stupid like making sims bffs and enemies at the same time. So don’t be stupid and you’ll be fine.
  • Remove Furious Tokens (Make me not furious/nobody furious with me/remove all from lot/remove all from hood)

Family Type Stuffeths:

All will affect the family tree as appropriate.

  • Set as My Child/Grandchild: Only appear if sim is younger than active sim.
  • Set as My Parent/Grandparent Only appear if sim is older than active sim.
  • Set as My Sibling/Aunt/Uncle/Niece/Nephew/Cousin  Always appear if gender appropriate.
  • Set as My Spouse Only appears if sim both sims older than teen. Sets both Family and Relationship flags.
  • Remove Family Ties Severs all family ties between the sims. If removing spouse will also remove relationship flags.
  • Move In Add any sim on lot to current family
  • Make Me Townie/Downtownie Remove active sim from current family as townie.
  • Make Stray Remove pet from current family as stray.
  • Adopt a Child Adopt a child (teen or younger) on the lot. Will move-in and set family ties.
  • Put up for Adoption Removes child/pet from current family and puts up for adoption.

Skill Type Stuffeths:

  • Give a Skill Point (Adds the point and satisfies wants if they exist)
  • Set Toddler Skills (set any or all toddler skills, including nursery rhyme) If a parent is the active sim they will get the memory and wants satisfied. If a non-parent, one of the parents will be selected)

Appearance Type Stuffeths:

  • Change Clothes (by sim or everyone on lot)
  • Makeover (any sim on lot, same as mirror)
  • Fug Factory (any sim on lot, plastic surgery)
  • Remove Zits (any sim who happens to have acne)
  • Add/Remove Tan/Sunburn (active sim only)
  • Set Fitness Level (Set fit/normal/fat. Will satisfy wants)

Pregnancy Related Stuffeths:

  • Pregnancy Scanner (same as ACR, gives info on pregnant sims)
  • Accelerate/Decelerate Pregnancy (just what it says)
  • Suspend/Resume Pregnancy (just what it says)
  • Terminate Pregnancy (Inteen enabled. Sim must be on 'home' lot. Same as ACR only different.)
  • Have Baby With (Active sim only. Pick sim on lot, aliens, or pick a neighbor)
  • Have Litter With (other pet must be on lot. boolprop controlpets true must be on)

Aging Related Stuffeths:

  • Grow Baby Up (instant baby aging. Must be a 'helper' around)
  • Grow Me Up (instant aging or death if sim is an elder. Available to pets, but you must use boolprop controlpets true first)
  • Add/Remove 3 Days (Instant elixir or poison. Your choice. Available to pets)
  • Reset to Max Days  Resets sim to the beginning of their current age.
  • Age To… Set any sim on lot (except unique NPCs and some others) to any age. Will reset the sim’s secondary aspiration and LTA points, if applicable.

Personality/Trait Type Stuffeths:

  • Set/Randomize Gender Preference (this is the exact same code/options as on the ACR adjuster. Cool beans stuff this is.)
  • Randomize Interests (randomizes sim interests, kept age appropriate albiet slightly tweaked from EAxis original settings.)
  • Randomize Personality (same as college adjuster. includes option to copy to genetic personality)
  • Randomize Skills (same as college adjuster)
  • Change Aspiration and/or Turn On/Offs (If this is run, the sim's secondary aspiration and all spent LTA points will be reset so you'll have to reselect them; true even if you only change turn ons/offs)
  • Change Zodiac Sign (set sim to any zodiac regardless of personality)
  • Give/Remove/Randomize Badges – Just what it says on the tin. Will satisfy wants. Randomize Erase will delete current badges before randomizing. Randomize Keep will keep current badges and add new random ones. Only teens or older. Teens may get 1-3 badge levels, Adults 1-5 levels, and elders 1-7 levels per randomization.
  • Set/Randomize The One Hobby – Allows you to view the sim’s current ‘One Hobby’, change it to a different hobby, or randomize it. Randomization is based on personality and aspiration so you will see less stupid incompatible hobbies.

Naming Type Stuffeths:

  • Change Sim's First Name (any sim in the hood)
  • Copy Sim's First Name to Last Name (use in combo with change first name to completely change a sim's name.)

Want Type Stuffeths:

  • Reroll or Cycle LTW (random reroll, or cycle through possible options)
  • Reroll Wants (active sim)
  • Add Slots/Locks
  • Reset to Base Slots/Locks

Career Type Stuffeths:

  • Set Career (includes custom careers. Active sim only)
  • Set Career Level (active sim)
  • Unlock Reward (also option for all rewards)

Teleporter Type Stuffeths:

  • Summon summon any sim to the lot as a visitor. This menu must first be enabled.
  • Clear off Specific sim or all visitors.
  • Selectablility Make sim selectable or unselectable.

Miscellaneous Type Stuffeths:

  • Normalize Temperature (by sim or all sims, sets body temp to normal)
  • Change Object Model (cycles the Blender Tree through a few options)
  • Clean & Fill Pet Food Bowls (cleans and refills all bowls on the lot)

Available in the catalog under Misc/Misc (it's a potted ficus and costs $10)
