I just got a new computer and I have to install basically everything I had on my old one again and I ran into a little problem when trying to install SimPE. I have the user friendly installer for 0.72 and when I tried to run it it gives me this message "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) of x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher" Now I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and I know it's the 64 bit version. I've tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3 (what I had on my old computer) and still no luck.

So, I just want to know if there have been any issues with the 0.73.44 version that's on the home page? And I've never done a manual install before even on my old computer, and Windows 7's file system still looks rather foreign to me, I want to know where I must put the files? Instead of the directory being C:\Program Files\SimPE_versionname for vista and XP, is it C:\Program Files (x86)\SimPE_versionname as there isn't a 64 bit version of it? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just wanted to ask before I do anything.

Ok, the version on the main page (73_44-QA) has been reported to work well under Windows 7 64 bit.  Yes, put it in the (x86) program files. (And no, it wasn't a stupid question; I had to go ask too.)

And remember, it still needs to be run as an administrator, under an admin account.

If you had Vista you would have had to jump through hoops to get it running, but Windows 7 has more support for that.

Thank you very much, Ghost! I managed to get it running perfectly fine. :)
