I was wondering if there is a way to use SimPE to change the bodymesh for already made characters in game. I tried looking for a mod of some sort that could do so but I couldn't find one. I noticed the Sim Surgery can change skintone and facial, but can it change the bodytypes?

I made a few Sims that have either bodytypes that were not in my game (they are floating heads when doing anything that involves them being nude) or that I wanted to change their type to match a new one I found over the net. Also, I didn't notice the floating heads thing because I never saw that sim bath after I had them make a ton of memories with their family.

You might be able to do it with sim surgery... You would need a sim who looks the way you want your current sim to look. Then use that sim as the archetype, and your sim as the patient and replace everything. Do your surgery immediately after creating the new sim, so the new sim doesn't have a chance to get into other sims memories. Then you can use the deleter to get rid of the archetype sim.

And of course, before you start, you should have a good backup in a safe place in case something goes wrong.

Just curious as to why simply changing skintones wouldn't work, as (if I understand skintones & body shapes correctly) skintones are linked to body meshes & since each skintone has it's very own "ID" number wouldn't just changing to a skintone linked to the shape you wanted do the trick?
