I've just downloaded the new version, .46 and am in the Neighborhood Browser/Veronaville/Sim Description.

Unfortunately, all the sims are in there, from all the neighborhoods. Is this supposed to be like this? It's very confusing, I'm working in Veronaville yet have to deal with sims from Strangetown and Pleasantview. Was this intentional? And for what purpose--why bother to have the neighborhoods separate then? I'd just like to understand because I'm so new at using this program.

Is there someplace else in the program I can work with only my sims in Veronaville? Maybe I'm in the wrong place.

It should not display all sims in that List. If it does, the it is a Bug!

Simply restart SimPE and try again.

I've restarted the program several times, they are all there and now they're doubled and some are now tripled. Would you like a screenshot? I can do that if it would help.

lol I have 5 Bella Goths!! Some have white backgrounds and some have blue, I have her both in Strangetown and Pleasantview but not 5 of her!! :?

Looks like the white background might be Veronaville and the blue one is Pleasantview and Strangetown. I don't have every single sim from each neighborhood but I have several and all duplicates, like the Birth Queen from Strangetown, I have 6 of her. I know in Strangetown, there are several Birth Queen Mothers, they're now in Veronaville.

As for Bella Goth what's really strange, is she looks the way I've made her to look in Veronaville, in this game, I haven't played any of the other 'hoods, only Veronaville! I'm wondering if I find her in Strangetown, will she look like I've made her look now, I'll go play and see what happens. I hope this helps, but yes, I do think it's a bug. All I did was download it version .46, open it and go to the Neighborhood Browser/Veronaville/Sim Description, I hadn't even started the game yet. I'll play Strangetown now and see if I can see Bella at all.

When you are in the SIm Browser, yous should see a FileName next to each Sim Name (Maybe you need to vertically scrol the ListBox).

Sort the List by that column (by clicking on the FileName Column Header), and check if one File is listed Twice, also make sure that each Filename starts with the same 4 Letters (like N001 for pleasentville, N002 or N003).

Ok, I don't know where the sim browser is. I've only used the Sim Description. In the Sim Description, all the Group & Instance (High) code are duplicated, only the other Instance has a different code.

I didn't have a backup, I never did anything that would do damage, I just use the sims description section. And how would I lose sims? I don't understand.

I'm sorry for giving you so much trouble with this, I'm trying to understand the program better but I don't know what some of this is you're suggesting. I'm very, very basic and only do very basic things with the SimPE program. Is there anyway I can go back to the older version? At least I didn't have all the duplicates. Maybe that's what I should do?

Well, first off. As ALL Warnings you see when first starting SimPE say. EVERYTHING is dangerous, and has the potetntial of crashing or corrupting your Game, even "just" using Sim Description Editor!

Loosing you sims means, that the duplicate Bellas do only look like bella, but they are in fact other Sims, which (due to the mentioned Bug, which also was in 0.44) are now overwritten with Bellas Character Data.

The QA (read this: http://ambertation.de/simpeforum/viewtopic.php?t=181) is basically the next SimPE Release, which is available to Members of the QA Group before it is released to the Public, so that major Bugs can be caugth before the public Release.

I briefly read the post on that link? Should I join that group to get the release? I'll do whatever I can to help both you and me. I never had the duplicates in .44, btw. I don't mind testing beta versions, I've done it before. Let me know if that's what I should do, I gotta get to work now, but I'll check back after work, and thank you quaxi!
