I have some problems with SimPe. It adds vertex to the objects. I just exported 1 little object using SimPe, changed the sice, nothing else in Maya, and imported it back with SimPe. Before it had 16 vertex but after it has 24. With a small object like that it is no problem but I have made bigger things I wanted to change later and cant do it because it then has to many vertex. (I lost the obj file). I use SimPe 42.

I also have some more problems with the newer SimPe versions. (Thats why I use 42) When I preweiw an object it sometimes show the texture colours, sometimes doesn´t. I can look at an object and it works fine then I want to look at exactly the same object 1 sec later and it´s all grey.
I have not seen anyone else with this problem Is it only me?

The second problem has an easy workaround. Simply close the GMDC Plugin View, and reopen it. The the Textures show up again.

The first one is normal too. When exporting to obj, you store Vertices, Normals and UV-Coordinates seperate, and relink them in an index-Face Set.

That means, each vertext does only have to be defined once.

When importing into the Sims Data Structrure, vertices, normals and UVCoords are an entity, wich means, that when you use a vertex with slightly diffrent UV-mappings, it will generate that vertex twice.

Thank you for your answer. The problem is, it does not have the texture a lot more often than it has. I don´t have that problem with 42
