Hello! I have a problem with my SimPe - every time I start it, then go to Neighbourhood Browser and choose a Neighbourhood, it starts loading (which takes quite some time) and after the progress bar in the bottom left corner disappears, the application just becomes unresponsive. I've re-installed SimPe (latest version from the page) and have restarted it, but the problem persists. Can anyone suggest what could I do to fix this? Thanks in advance :)

Is this with all neighborhoods or just one? If it's just one neighborhood, does the neighborhood work in game or does it crash? And how long do you wait after it becomes unresponsive? An older neighborhood has a lot of files to load, and SimPE loads absolutely everything, whether you are planning to use it or not. "Not Responding" doesn't necessarily mean "crashed". I've had to give my older neighborhoods 45 minutes sometimes.

- It's a self-created neighbourhood with only 3-4 lots and 2 families. - It works perfectly fine in-game. - It's the only neighbourhood in my game at the moment since I took out the default ones to minimize loading times. - I've waited about 30 minutes, should I wait longer?

Half an hour for a virtually new neighborhood does sound as though it should have gotten there unless you have attached a dozen sub-hoods to it. Have you gone into Extra: Preferences and run a system check? Also double check to be sure that SimPE is not reading your Downloads folder. If you have a piece of bad CC it could be causing SimPE to hang up. (Not to mention adding to the load time by reading all the extra files that you aren't planning to do anything with right now.) That would be in the file table. If the system check doesn't show any problems and SimPE is not reading your Downloads, I'm not sure what to try next. You might have to ask at MTS.

No, I have no sub-neighbourhoods attached. How do I know if SimPe is reading my Downloads folder?

If you haven't told it to, it probably isn't. If you go into the Extra: tab you can check the file table. It lists the directory path for all the places where SimPE is supposed to look for files. If the Download directory is on the list, you can remove it. But I believe the default setting is for Downloads not to be scanned, although it is easy to accidentally add it.

I seem to have a newer version, not the "Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0". Could that be a problem?

I don't think so... I think if it made a difference it would be crashing before you got to the neighborhood browser. Did you look under Preferences on the Extra tab and run a system check in SimPE? That should tell you if everything is ok. I'm starting to wonder if you might have a problem with the neighborhood memory file. You wouldn't necessarily notice it in game, but it might be something that SimPe is hanging up on. Or it could be a buggy relationship between two townies... Try creating a test neighborhood. Play it for a little while, then see if it will load in SimPE. It will help to know if the problem is with both neighborhoods, or just one.

Yes, I ran the system check in SimPe. The only error that came up was that It couldn't find the file "_EnableColorOptionsMMAT.package" so I reinstalled the CEP. The system check didn't show any other problems though. I also checked the file table and unchecked all the boxes of the EPs that I don't have. It's still not loading though. I can't imagine what else can cause this. I will try with a brand new neighbourhood as soon as I have time and then let you know :)
