Member since: 2011-10-06 Posts: 2 | I do not use SimPE at all for anything. I find it way to complex (NOT user friendly). But when I started playing Sims 2 I had 19 lots in my G001Neighborhood Folder (I only play Pleasentview no others) and now I have 149 Lots! I have been trying to download apartments repeatedly but every time I do there is something wrong with them. I have a success rate of about 1/20.
I am NOT using Clean Installer. My PC does not meet the requirements of the Microsoft program CleanInstaller says it needs to run [says I have to have Windows 98 and I have Vista; says I have to use IE and I use Firefox].
What I want to know is when I am installing Apartments where the *%$@# are they going??? I'm guessing in the G001Neighborhood Folder.
Since I have to loose more than half of the apartments I'm downloading because they don't work - demolish and delete from in the game - I'm thinking, "Are they truly deleted?" If not, I want them truly deleted out of my Lots Bin.
So does SimPE give lot previews? If so, how do I do it?

You cannot download Net 2, because you already have Net 2 incorporated in Vista. And it's only the Microsoft site that insists that you use IE, which is, after all, their own browser. Clean installer doesn't care if you use IE, Opera, Firefox, Safari, or one that you have just put together on your own as long as it works. As the Microsoft program that Clean Installer wants is Net 2, if you honestly do not have the capability to run Clean Installer, you wouldn't be able to run SimPE either.
I don't know how helpful it would be to you, but you can open each lot in the Lots catalog individually and see details for them in SimPE. I don't remember seeing an image of the lot, but you can find names, etc. of them. I would STRONGLY recommend backing up your neighborhood if you delete any of them, though. There are bits that get saved elsewhere, but I'm not sure where they all are. And if the game finds confusing data it tends to crash. Finding references to lots that are gone is just as likely to be deadly to your game as finding references to a missing sim.
If you do confirm that there are lots that you need to get rid of, I would suggest asking at MTS. Mootilda is an expert at this sort of thing. She may even be able to tell you what is happening with the apartments, which -should- have gone into the teleport folder, and then the lots bin.
