Almost 20 people have seen this topic, & nobody has answered, I'm very irritated at all you who watches this & never answeres, it is very hard to explain & I really understand why you don't answer, but if there's any admin or something, please answer me, cause you know best!

I'm trying to explain better now about the problem: SimPE doesn't have the GUI as I expected, the GUI looks more like the classic GUI, I want the same GUI as the screenshots at sims.ambertation.com, there you find screenshots at SimPE with a totally different GUI, I want that GUI, but how can I get that GUI, do I need to download anything or something, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE answer me, I have a Windows XP with 512 MB & about 3000-3500 MHZ, it's a very new computer, so I REALLY don't understand why it doens't work as it's supposed to!

I think the Admin's on holiday.

The download comes with both the old and the new interfaces. The one that looks like old Simpe is called SimpeClassic.exe and the new one is just Simpe.exe

Be sure you're running the right one, and if you're running it by clicking a shortcut, be sure the shortcut got updated and is pointing to the latest version of SimPe

First ... sorry I'm a frenchspeaker.

Inge Jones : I don't want to be rde with you but you're explanation is completely out.
In fact the SimPE Classic.exe and the SmPE.exe just have the same look.

Normaly it's impossible but ... this morning when I started SimPE to try a new manipulation, I've been very surprised to see the old layout.

I've just tried unstall/re-install SimPE, with cleaning the database but nothing change.
Maybe this is related to problem that occur with the v.0.44 ?

Si, if someone find a solution.
Thanks a lot !

This does not apply to my installation. If I go into the directory where Simpe is installed - and this applies to both 042 and 044, and click on SimPe.exe I get a completely different interface from if I click on SimPeClassic.exe

However, rather than tell you that your message is inaccurate, I have an idea that maybe I got something different because I always download the .rar from SourceForge for manual installation, whereas you might have downloaded the installer version from the downloads page on this site?

By reading the forum's messages, it appear that Quaxi's searching after how to resolve that problem.

So we better have to wait until the bug(s) is(are) fixed.

I know it's borring, the new layout was really nice, but it seems that the v.0.44 isn't available anymore and anywhere.

Both links (0.42 and 0.44) from the download page point to the same file.

However, you can still get the rar-file version from sourceforge, if you're desperate: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=133134

I've downloaded the rar.file by now, it's called SimPe_044, but where should I put it, cause it's a text file which I read with Notepad & other text programs (Microsoft Word & Wordpad), in what map should I put the rar.file, so the GUI will work again?

You need an archive utility such as WinRar because .rar is another archive format like .zip

When you have unrared it, you will have a directory containing all the same stuff you'd have after installing the normal way. But it won't have made any shortcuts for you, so you will have to either change your shortcuts to point to the new files, or just directly double-click on SimPe.exe or SimPe Classic.exe to run it.
