So I'm absolutely ecstatic that I can finally use this magnificent tool! Got it up and running without a problem. However, I'm trying to figure out which files I need to copy to my VPC in order to edit.

Do I need to copy my entire user folder (Mac side: /username/Documents/EA Games/Sims 2/)  into my VPC (Windows side: /Administrator/My Documents/)? Can I move files into the Windows side one at a time on an as-needed basis? Or does everything need to be moved and sitting there?

And how about recolors of Maxis items? Yes, CEP is already installed, too. But I'm assuming I need to copy the actual application folder over to the Windows side as well to have access to the original objects? If that's true, will I need to copy over the entire Sims 2 application folder? Or can I just bring over bits and pieces? And, lastly, where do I copy the app folder to? The top level of the drive? The Applications folder? Or does simPE even care?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much for such an awesome program, and for such a great community!

Unfortunately most of the community has moved on to Sms 3. :(

You might do better asking at MTS where there are people with Macs that can answer you better.

SimPE expects to find Sims 2 and the Stuff/Expansion Packs installed in the locations specified in the Windows Registry.  Within those install folders, it then "knows" where to find the files it's interested in.  However, you need to have the registry entries correct.  The "easy" way to do this is to install the base game and the SPs/EPs.

Thanks, all! Just in case anyone else stumbles across this, I just copied the entire game directory over to the Virtual PC side's Application folder. Then did the same thing for the /username/My Documents/EA Games/ folders. Started up SimPE, and after awhile, was up and running :) Works slowly... BUT IT WORKS! :D
