| 7z is the File Extension of 7-Zip archives. 7-Zip is something like .rar, but it is (for our case) better. We save more than 1MB in filesize by using 7-Zip instead of .rar (which is about 30% saving).
WinRar 3.4 and higher can handle 7-Zip archives just like .rar Archives. If your extraction Tool can not handle 7-Zip, you can get the free 7-Zip Tool from http://www.7-zip.org/.
7-Zip is OpenSource (just like SimPE), and therefor I decided to use this free format instead of the proprietary rar. |
