| In the linked pic, see how a white top and blue shorts is the same gray thumbnail as the gray top and red shorts? Can it pull the base texture instead of the normal map?
Love the new scan folders improvements by-the-way, really getting NICE and going to make keeping downloads folders neat and tidy and no bad files or duplicates really painless, really good.

| This came up in the QA for 0.35.
The Problem is, that the Thubnail Scanner tries not to open all the TXTR Files in a package to get the Filename and stuff like that. That is because Skins have anout 72 TXTR Files each 1024x1024, and loading all of them would take a very long time when the cache is first created or a File was changed.
At the moment SimPE is just pulling the biggest compressed TXTR File and only decodes that one to display the Thumbnail.
Pinhead already suggested an alternative that will not involve reading the TXTR. Numenor already had an idea of how to determin the right TXTR by it's Filename (which would involve reading it but therfor should bring up the best Results).
Next Version of the Scan Folders Plugin will have a better Thumbnail Scanner. :D |
