| simPE used to work for me. As soon as the program says "Checking commandline parameters", it crashes and says "simPE will shut down due to an unhandled exception." When I click details, nothing shows at all. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, using the QA version, installing previous versions, and even using the no-install version of simPE. This is really frustrating to me and I would really appreciate any help whatsoever on my issue. |

| I'm sorry but without further information, it's impossible to diagnose. The error you refer to isn't coming from the application, it's coming from the operating system, which makes it even harder. The only thing that springs to mind is UAC or whether you're running the app as Administrator. |

| There is a silly problem in the error box where it doesn't open it up enough to see the Details - but you can pull it open more yourself and read them. |

| I am having the same problem, except mine gave me the error immediately after I installed and tried to run the program. I run windows vista. I installed as administrator. .Net Framework 2.0 is part of my operating system. I have .Net Framework 3.5 sp1 and .Net Framework 4 client profile. I had used simpe on my prior machine but it was XP. I had quit playing the Sims 2 when Sims 3 came out but have become a little bored as it is actually too easy. I am trying t install Simpe onto this machine which is a HP (Compaq) Model SR5710Y. Processor AMD Athlon(tm) Dual core 4450e 2.30 GHz. Memory 3 GB, 32 bit operating system. When I click details on the error message I it brings up nothing. Has anyone any suggestions. Thank you. |

| If it shows a details box, you can pull the edge like you can with any other window. Expand it until you can read it. And if you avoid letting your eyes cross you might see where the problem is. |

There are no details listed: well I did have print screens in there but I guess they don't take on the forum. If someone would like me to email them I would be glad to. I was trying to install simpe for apartment life. I actually have all eps and sps. I have tried to update with the MG patch but still get same thing. |

| You can't attach them directly, but you can upload them to an image hosting site, then post the links. A full size screenshot would be large, so it would be nice to post the link to it rather than the image. Highlight the text after pasting the link, then click the chain icon that lights up on the bar where the smileys are. It opens a pop-up where you paste the link again. That will put the link into the post. And if the link doesn't work we can copy it into the browser window. |

As an after thought I brought up Wizards of Simpe. It does come up with no error but only partially loads the Sims content. It seems to be loading some of the Ikea stuff pack, apartment life, the teen stuff pack and happy holidays but not all of any of them. I have had it on my desktop for about 20 minutes. When I start to exit out at that time it gives a message the Wizzard is not finished yet. Do you want to quit anyway? I am going to continue to keep it on my desktop for a while longer to see what happens. I have just removed my complete downloads folder. No luck there. I completely uninstalled Simpe again. I used the manual install method. Still no luck. I will wait for an answer before taking the next step and completely uninstalling and re-installing Sims2. Thank you |

| If you look at the bottom right of the window, you'll see it's resizable. If you pull it out larger, you'll find the information required. You may even be able to select the text (I don't remember) and use cut'n'paste. |
