I would like it when I commit changes in the FAMi Editor that the changes be reflected in the family list drop-down in the Neighborhood and Sim Memory Editor.  Whether I had renamed, added or deleted families.  Right now in order to get it to show the modified list of families I have to save the file, close it, load a different 'hood, close that, and then reload my first one.  I tried just closing the current 'hood (after saving) and reopening it but the same pre-modified list of families is still shown in the drop-down.

Yes, it should really be fixed to refresh its internal file structure.  For now, try this:  Look for the two blue arrows - the "refresh" icon on your top toolbar somewhere.  That, if you are lucky, will reread the file (save first of course).   If you don't have the icon, there is also an option under Extra/Preferences/Filetable - it's "Reload" on the top right of that tab.

I may move this to the bug reports section, so if you lose the thread it will be there :D

Actually I use to have this problem. However, I just did it in the release version of 66, and it appeared to change the family name on the fly to the new one? At least in the sim browser it did.

Inge, I just tried the refresh button like you suggested but the names in the drop-down list didn't change.   Oh well.  Thanks for the suggestion.

BTW, on a off-topic note, thank you very much for your half-landing and winder staircases.  Between those and marvine's spiral sets I never even touch EA's any more.
