So the creature creator comes out officially on the 17th, but the free trial is on torrents and other unofficial sources already, and guess what? It uses the package file format. I've attached some sample packages. I've not been able to do much looking at it but it clearly is different than the Sims 2 format because SimPE didn't seem to like it one bit when it opened it.

 

My question is, will there be any effort to support this in SimPE at all? Or perhaps there will be an effort made to fork it to make things less complicated?

 

I'm definitely going to start looking into this stuff as soon as I possibly can, I wish I hadn't of started this multiplayer game, I can't quit now. :-/

I am looking at this, too.

 

It looks like the index entries are no longer a fixed size, they seem to be right after the header and have a length word at the start.
